Ethiopia, China Ink $1.8bn Investment Agreement
Ethiopia and China signed a $1.8 billion investment agreement. The agreement covers provision of electric power transmission and distribution lines. The signing of the agreement came following Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed meeting officials of State Grid Corporation of China in Beijing. On Ethiopia's part, Ahmed Shide, Minister of Finance and Economic Cooperation inked the agreement.

Ethiopian Electric Power and the Corbetti Geothermal Company have concluded power purchase agreement on July 27, 2015, for the first 500 Megawatts, Ethiopian News Agency reported.
