The 8th African Space Leadership Congress (ASLC) on Space Science and Technology for Sustainable Development themed "Prospects and Challenges of African Space Development," will be conducted in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia from 2 – 4 December 2019. The congress is aimed at capitalizing efforts of African nations on space technologies to address key socio-economic challenges and harnessing the opportunities that space science and technology could provide.
Ethiopia is to host the 2013 African Growth and Opportunity Act Forum. Ethiopia is to host the event after senior
government lobbied for the opportunity for the last four years.
Hosting the upcoming AGOA forum is an important opportunity for Ethiopia to create a platform to promote the country said Addis Alemayehu, ex-Chief of party of VEGA Ethiopia which assists Ethiopian exporters to the AGOA market under the auspices of USAID.
Ethiopia has invested more than any other African country in the AGOA sector as a result of which it has been selected to host the forum he said.
The fifth Africa Hotel Investment Forum (AHIF) is going to be held in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia at Sheraton Addis, from September 30 to October 1, 2015, according to Capital.

The Ministry of Mines has announced that the third MINTEX Mining and Technology Expo will be held in Addis Ababa at the Millennium Hall from November 23-26, 2024. The four-day event will bring together international companies and stakeholders in the mining and technology sectors.
