Ethiopia to Host Korea-Africa Forum in September

Ethiopia is set to host a regional workshop on “Promoting UNESCO Global Geoparks and Geotourism for Sustainable Development in Eastern Africa” from May 12–15, 2025, the Ministry of Tourism (MoT) announced. Organized in collaboration with UNESCO, the event will take place in Addis Ababa and bring together participants from 10 countries.
Ethiopia is to host the second International Conference on Pulses, Oilseeds and Spices, in Addis Ababa from the 28th to the 29th of November according to sources.
The conference will be held under the theme: ‘Agri-Commodity Trade: Challenges & Opportunities’. It is expected that more than 150 domestic exporters and over 100 notable international buyers will attend the conference.
The conference will be organized through the collaborative efforts of the Ethiopian Pulses, Oilseeds and Spices Processors-Exporters Association and the Ethiopian Ministry of trade. It is aimed that the conference will offer participants to identify trade opportunities, to network and to make deals towards developing the sector further.
Ethiopia is going to host Origin Africa/Africa Sourcing and Fashion Week (ASFW) 2015 from Wednesday, October 21 to Friday, October 23, 2015 at the Millennium Hall. The event is one of the biggest textile and garment events in the entire African continent.
Ethiopia was selected to host the “Origin Africa’ textile exhibition because of its conducive investment and trade policy according to Rajeev Arora, Director of the African Cotton and Textile Industries Federation.
The exhibition will be held in Addis Ababa from April 25-28 2012.
Ethiopia should enhance the competitiveness of its textile and garments sector on the international market said Arora.
