The Ethiopian Coffee and Tea Authority and Women in Coffee Ethiopia announced that international conference in Addis Ababa that would focus on the coffee development value chain would be held in Addis Ababa starting from October 16 this year.

Mohammad Shemsu, the CEO of Coffee and Tea Authority, stated that approximately 300 researchers and stakeholders from the coffee sector would be in attendance. He emphasized the significant role of international events, highlighting that this particular meeting would contribute greatly to the advancement of women's involvement in the coffee industry. The conference will also feature an expo where participants can present their products, and there will be organized visits to selected coffee-producing areas.

Sara Yerga, the Chairperson of Women in Coffee Ethiopia, expressed her belief that the forum would not only attract foreign buyers directly but also serve as an excellent opportunity to showcase Ethiopia's potential in the coffee sector.

This will be the first time such a convention is held in Ethiopia, and it is expected to attract participation from member countries of the International Women's Coffee Alliance for a week-long conference. In a joint statement issued by Women in Coffee Ethiopia and Ethiopian Coffee and Tea Authority, it was revealed that the meeting, which is scheduled to take place in two weeks' time, would be named the "International Women in Coffee Convention."
