Ethiopia Secures $238Mn from Manufacturing in 6 Months
Ethiopia has obtained $238 million from the export of manufacturing products during the first half of the current fiscal year, the Ministry of Industry reported. The amount has shown an increase of $51 million, 27 percent, compared to the same period of the previous year.
Ethiopia's Ministry of Mines announced that it has earned $241 million from the export of gold during the last five months. Takele Uma, Ethiopia's Minister of Mines, called the achievement "encouraging" despite various challenges posed especially due to security issues around mining sites.
Ethiopia has obtained $3.7 million from the export of electrical and electronic equipment during the first quarter of the Ethiopian fiscal year that started July 8, 2021.
Ethiopia has obtained $390 million from exports of the manufacturing industry, Melaku Alebel, Ethiopia's Minister of Industry, announced. This, he pointed out, stands 87 percent of the target set for the period.
