Ethiopia Plans Grid Connection to Power South Africa

Ethiopia's Electric Power (EEP) has set its sights on expanding its power grid and becoming a major electricity supplier in Africa. Their plan involves connecting the Eastern and Southern Africa Power Pools, ultimately delivering electricity to South Africa.
Ethiopia's Ministry of Urban Development and Infrastructure announced that it plans to build 4.4 million urban houses as it embarks on the implementation of its ten year perspective plan. The Ministry also said it plans to see up to 2.8 million rural houses built.
Ethiopia's Minister of Agriculture announced its plans to earn $1.2 billion from coffee exports in the current Ethiopian fiscal year that started July 8, 2021. The figure aims for a 30 percent increase compared to earnings from the previous year.
