Ethiopia Obtains $283Mn from Mines Exports in 6 Months
Ethiopia's Ministry of Mines and Petroleum announced $283 million has been secured from mines exports during the past six months. The Ministry made the announecment after a review meeting of its six-month performance.
Ethiopia has obtained $329 million from export trade in the first month of the fiscal year that started on July 8, 2021, the Ministry of Trade and Industry (MoTI) announced. The amount has shown a 20 percent or $54 million increase compared to the same period last year.
Ethiopia has obtained over $333.93 million from exports in agriculture, manufacturing, mining and other sectors during the one month period from November 10 to December 9, 2021, it has been learned, achieving 99.95 percent of the target set for the period.
Ethiopia's Ministry of Finance announced that it has obtained $2.96 billion (close to 107 billion birr) from various sources, multilateral and bilateral, in the form of grants and loans in the Ethiopian fiscal year that ended on July 7. The Ministry declared $1.92 billion (69.5 billion birr) of this has been obtained from grants, while the rest was secured from loans.
