Bishoftu Automotive Manufacturing Industry (BAMI) has launched a pilot project to produce safari cars, aiming to meet the growing demand for locally-made touring vehicles in the expanding tourism sector.
Preparations are in full swing for the INVEST ETHIOPIA 2025 High-Level Business Forum, set to take place on May 12-13, 2025, at the Ethiopian Skylight Hotel in Addis Ababa. The event, jointly organized by government institutions, the private sector, and development partners, is expected to draw over 1,000 global participants, according to the Ethiopian Ministry of Finance.
Ethiopia's ambitions to become a major electricity exporter in Africa are gaining momentum. The Ethiopian Electric Power (EEP) announced plans to expand its reach, with Tanzania becoming the next recipient and South Africa targeted within the next five years.
Ethiopia earned around 21 million USD from the export of electronics. The products were exported during the first 9 months of the current fiscal year. The news was disclosed by metals and engineering development institute.
During the first 10 months of the current fiscal year, Ethiopia generated 3.8 billion Birr from the export of electricity. Nevertheless, this was short of the target set by the beginning of the current fiscal year, 4.7 billion Birr.
