The Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia has extended the bid submission date for the privatization of 8 state-owned sugar enterprises to October 5, 2023, from the original submission date which was August 3, 2023.
Ethiopia plans to export its fruit and meat products to China and is currently negotiating with the country. According to Ambassador Teshome Toga, Ethiopia’s Ambassador to China, Ethiopia wants to strengthen its strategic cooperation with China with a view to transform its economy. The negotiations on the meat and food trade is part of Ethiopia’s endeavors to boost trade relations with the Asian country.
Ethiopia plans to export 100 megawatts of electricity to Tanzania through Kenya as part of a growing cross-border electricity trade initiative. Ethiopian Electric Power (EEP) announced the move following agreements that facilitate power transmission across the three nations.
