Ethiopia expects more South Korean investors in the manufacturing sectors, specifically in textile industry, according to State Minister of Industry Tadesse Haile.
The Ethio-Korea Business Forum was held on December 3, 2015, in Addis Ababa. The forum intended at expansion of Ethiopian textile industry and trade cooperation which also includes enhancing of the cooperation between bilateral companies and creating new business opportunities.
The Korea business delegation composed of 35 persons, led by Director-General Sangjin Lee has been in Addis Ababa, attending the Forum.
Korean investors’ area of focus for investment in Ethiopia is on textile, infrastructure, development and construction, Tadesse said. “We would like to encourage our Korean friends to seize the opportunities to explore many untapped investment options that can promise mutual growth and prosperity,” Tadesse noted.
Sangjin Lee, South Korea’s Director-General with Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, said Ethiopia avails investment opportunities and South Korean investors seek to invest in textile and garment industries in the country.
