Ethiopian Institute of Agricultural Research (EIAR) said it is expanding biofertilizer technology in Ethiopia.

Soil and Water Research Directorate Director with Ethiopian Institute of Agricultural Research , Doctor Tolossa Debele, told Walta Information Center, the new technology would enable to double pulse production.

The new biofertilizer technology has a significant contribution in maintaining soil fertility and natural resources as well as replacing Urea fertilizer, he said.

Metal Engineering Industry Development Institute disclosed the demand for electronics and engineering products made in Ethiopia is increasing to which in response the country has been expanding its market. The Institute earned 22.7 million USD by exporting products to the USA, Africa, Europe and Asia.

Road projects that link Ethiopia with neighboring states are under construction to advance intra-Africa trade, Ethiopian News Agency reported.

The Ethiopian Capital Market Authority (ECMA) has granted licenses to five new capital market service providers (CMSPs). This development increases the number of licensed CMSPs from four to nine and introducing the country’s first-ever investment banks.

Ethiopia is accelerating efforts to develop its cocoa industry as part of a broader plan to diversify agricultural exports and enter the global chocolate market.
