UK Investment Envoy Visits Ethiopia

The United Kingdom has launched a new trade framework program that aims to benefit 65 countries, including Ethiopia, by easing trade regulations and taxes for these countries. The UK International Trade Minister, Nigel Huddleston, announced the new trade plan which is expected to allow developing countries to export a wide range of goods duty-free to the UK in Addis Ababa.
Trade mission from the United Kingdom arrived in Ethiopia’s capital, Addis Ababa, on May 10, 2016 for a 3 days visit. The visit is organized following the success of UK-Ethiopia Trade and Investment Forum held in London a year ago.
Colvir Software Solution, a U.K.-based company that provides postal software and core banking solutions, launched its products in Ethiopia last week. 
Representatives of Colvir said that the company entered the Ethiopian market following the steady growth of banks and other financial institutions in the country.
The UK-Ethiopia Trade and Investment Forum was held in London on October 21, 2015, according to Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ethiopia (MoFA).
