Ethiopian Airlines, the largest and most profitable airline in Africa, is pleased to announce that preparations are being finalized to launch service to New York’s JFK airport by the end of June.
As part of The Coca-Cola Africa Foundation’s commitment to helping create sustainable communities, it announced today the launch of Replenish Africa Initiative’s (RAIN) Multiple Use Water Improvements project.

We know that providing water access is an effective way of expanding social and economic opportunities for our communities. As part of our Replenish Africa Initiative (RAIN) we collaborate with partners from civil society and government to improve the access, sustainability and affordability of safe water in our communities," said Peter Njonjo, Coca-Cola General Manager for Eastern Africa.
The construction work on Kombolcha Airport, Ethiopia is underway according to an announcement from the Ethiopian Airports 
Enterprise. The airport project is expected to cost an estimated 149 million birr up to completion according to Wondim Teklu, Head of Public Relations with the enterprise.
The construction includes a 2 kilometers long runway and a 4 kilometer long feeder road to the airport said Wondim.
The airport is offering services alongside the construction project that is underway to meet the goals of the second phase of the airport he noted. The airport will be equipped to serve Bombardier Q400 aircraft once this phase of construction is finished explained Wondim.

The power corporation is seeking alternative financing because the project is behind schedules due to financial constraints according to sources.
Initial projections established by the contract signed between the EEPCo and the Chinese Sinohydro Corporation that the project would cost 555 million US dollars to completion. The project was intended to be carried out in two stages generating a total of 278 MW when its complete.
