Ethiopia and Japan signed a grant agreement of $12.7 million for road maintenance in Ethiopia, specifically in the capital Addis Ababa. Signing the agreement were Ahmed Shide, Ethiopia's Minister of Finance, and Matsunaga Daisuke, Japan's Ambassador to Ethiopia.
Japanese business delegation led by Nobuhiko Sasaki, Chairman of Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO), held talks with Markos Tekle (Ph.D.), Ethiopia's State Minister of Foreign Affairs. On the occasion, Dr. Markos called on Japanese investors to "take advantage of" Ethiopia's favorable investment climate.
