Earns $3 mln from export, plans cotton production on 30,000 ha
Else Addis Industrial Development P.L.C, a textile factory, announced that it had started exporting textile products to different countries around the world.
The first time the company exported its textile products was in March. It exported textile products to the United States, Russia, Ukraine and the Far East countries, Dilek Durular, project coordinator of the company, said.
Fafa Foods SC has become the first company to produce full cream milk powder in Ethiopia.
The company has introduced ten new products including, flour, instant yeast, soya milk corn flakes and a range of snacks since it was turned over to new management.
Fafa is working to meet local demand through import substitution with locally prepared alternatives costing an average of 40% less than the imported varites said Dr. Berhanu Mosissa, Director of Sales and Marketing with the company.
Faffa Foods SC, Ethiopia introduced two new flavors of one of its latest products, Saba powdered soy milk at an even organized at the Sheraton Addis last week.
The event organized to promote the new product was attended by representatives from American innovator of Soy products, food ingredients and other nutritional products, Solae. The representatives were able to give a presentation on the various products offered by the company.
Saba Soy milk is packaged in Ethiopia with the powdered milk imported from one of the Solae branches in Kenya according to Zeku Ebro, General Manager of Faffa Foods SC.
By forming a joint venture with Albazz Industrial PLC., Falcon Chemicals LLC, a United Arab Emirates based company, has decided to start producing construction chemicals in Ethiopia using local materials.
