Faffa Foods Introduces New Products
Faffa Foods SC, Ethiopia introduced two new flavors of one of its latest products, Saba powdered soy milk at an even organized at the Sheraton Addis last week.
The event organized to promote the new product was attended by representatives from American innovator of Soy products, food ingredients and other nutritional products, Solae. The representatives were able to give a presentation on the various products offered by the company.
Saba Soy milk is packaged in Ethiopia with the powdered milk imported from one of the Solae branches in Kenya according to Zeku Ebro, General Manager of Faffa Foods SC.
By forming a joint venture with Albazz Industrial PLC., Falcon Chemicals LLC, a United Arab Emirates based company, has decided to start producing construction chemicals in Ethiopia using local materials.
Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) provided a USD 50 thousand fund to the Ethiopian Commodity Exchange (ECX) to help the commodity exchange with its wheat trading system and warehouse receipt financing. ECX utilized the fund to launch wheat trading by conducting various activities including drafting agreements, hosting consultation sessions with stakeholders, and preparing education and communication materials.
FAO announced it is launching a network of in-country innovation hubs in Ethiopia, established by FAO and Ethiopia's agricultural institutions, to support farmers and value chain actors. Similar hubs will also be set up in Dominica, Grenada, and Morocco.
