A data released by Ethiopian Central Statistics Agency (CSA) revealed the nation’s year-on-year inflation rate fell to 5.6 percent in September from 7.2 percent in August. This is said to be due to a slower sdrise in food and other prices.
The inflation rate for non food items such as khat and clothing also dropped from 9.4 percent in the previous month to 7.8 percent in September.
Food inflation also showed a drop by going to 3.6 percent from 5.2 percent.
