Ethiopia will expect a 25 percent climb from its arabica coffee export earnings in the 2014/2015 fiscal year, taking it to about U.S $ 900 Million. This is, according to Bloomberg, because of the higher price forecasted to happen following the drought damaged plants in Brazil.
Ministry of Trade (MoT) disclosed Ethiopia might reach a record high volume of annual coffee export by the end of the current fiscal year. During the past 11 month Ethiopia exported 174,000 tons of coffee, which is 96 percent of the intended 180,000 tons.
Ethiopia’s coffee exports are increasing on government incentive and support, according to a Trade Ministry official.
The Ethiopian Coffee and Tea Authority has announced that the country earned more than USD 2.24 billion in revenue from coffee exports over the past 11 months.
Ethiopia’s coffee export earnings rose sharply in the first three months of the 2025/26 fiscal year, generating USD 762.75 million, a 47% increase compared to the same period of the previous fiscal year.
