Ethiopian Receives New Cargo B737-800 Freighter
Ethiopian Airlines’ Cargo and Logistics Services received its first Boeing 737-800 freighter. Tewolde Gebremariam, Ethiopian’s Group CEO, speaking as his airlines received the new cargo freighter, said his company is excited to obtain the new freighter “a few days after being crowned with ‘African Cargo Airline of the Year’ and ‘Air Cargo Brand of the Year in Africa’ Awards for the fourth year in a row.”
Ethiopian Airlines has been recognized by the judges in the Decade of Airline Excellence Awards as Africa’s best-performing airline of the past 10 years. The carrier took the accolade in the African regional category of the Awards, it disclosed in a press release sent to 
Ethiopian Airlines has been ranked fourth-largest airline globally, based on the number of countries it serves. Ethiopian also remains the largest carrier in Africa in terms of the number of passengers it carries, destinations it serves, fleet size, and revenue.
