Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed visited the Toshiba Energy System Solutions plant today, on which occasion he extended an invitation to Toshiba to "come and invest" in Ethiopia.

Toshiba gave the Prime Minister a briefing on operations, coupled with a tour of the steam turbine manufacturing site, the Office of the Prime Minister said in a tweet. Prime Minister Abiy a call on Toshiba to come and invest in Ethiopia "particularly in geothermal energy."

Prime Minister Abiy, who entered Japan yesterday following his official visit to South Korea, led the Ethiopian delegation that took part in the 7th Tokyo International Conference on International Development (TICAD), along with other African leaders and development partners.
