Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed and Eritrean President Isaias Afwerki visited the Adama Industrial Park this morning, located some 90 kilometers south-east of Addis Ababa.

Ethiopian Postal Service Enterprise said it has collected 230 million birr during the past six months. The amount has been collected from handling over four million total mail traffic through the Ethiopian Postal Service's handling of letter post, parcel post, and EMS services.

Ziyin Gedlu, public relations head with the Ethiopian Postal Service told Walta Information Center, that the revenue earned in the reported period exceeds that of the previous year by 30 per cent.

The Ethiopian Postal Service Enterprise, Ethiopia’s sole mail carrier has won two bronze awards from the Universal Postal Union it announced.

The enterprise won the first award for its efficient Emergency Message Service according to Ziyen Gedlu, Head of the Communications work process with the EPSE.

The second award was given in recognition of the enterprise establishing a mechanism for complaints management said Ziyen.

The award will help the postal service to enhance its competitiveness she noted.
