The Ethiopian Parliament, the House of People’s Representatives, has approved a supplementary budget of $1.45 billion (49.6 billion birr) the federal government requested to deal with "prevailing problems".
The Ethiopian House of People’s Representatives approved the budget for the federal government just began fiscal year yesterday.
The bill was endorsed by the parliament with one abstention after the house studied the report and recommendation presented by the Standing Committee for Budgetary and Financial Affairs.
The house also approved the Chat Excise Tax proclamation which is designed to ensure equity in the collection of tax due on Chat trade.
The Ethiopian parliament (House of People's Representatives) approved into law the revised excise tax law with a majority vote, 4 against and 7 abstentions. The approval came after the bill received a revision on the initial draft, further reducing the tax cut on cars and bottled water.
