Coffee Plantation Development Enterprise (CPDE) announced that it had earned 84 million birr by selling coffee at local and foreign markets over the last fiscal year. The enterprise sold 64,000 quintals of coffee during the reported period.

Countries to which the enterprise exported coffee include the United Sstates, Australia, Belgium, Germany, Italy, Japan and Sweden.

About 49.5 million birr of the 84 million birr profit was obtained from over 16,000 quintals coffee sold locally.
According to the director general of CPDE, the amount earned from the export of coffee is up by 56 million from last year’s earnings. 

Zablon Trading Private Limited Company opened a processing plant for oilseed and pulses on 1 October 2011.  The plant is expected to clean and sort over 1,200 quintals of export standard oil seeds and pulses every year.

The company has exported oil seeds and pulses valued at approximately 5 million dollars, last year and is planning to raise its exports to 25 million this year said Biniam Bedewi Owner and Managing director of Zablon.  He said that they hope to achieve this through developing human resource and creating stronger links with local banks.

Holland Car plc, first automobile assembler in Ethiopia, has reached a Joint venture agreement with a transport company based in the Democratic Republic Congo, TRC-City to assemble Ahadu Bus and Abay Executive.

Holland Car owns 30% of the Joint Venture of the new assembly plant to be constructed in Kinshasa with the other 70% shared equally between the founding partners of TRC said Engineer Tadesse Tessema General Manager of the company.

Holland expects to show case the first Ahadu Bus assembled in the DRC in the coming four months according to sources.

Ambo Gnemer announced plans to carry out gold exploration in Oromia Regional State, Ethiopia. The company is set to invest in cement manufacturing, vegetable and fruits, animal husbandry and sugar development as well as gold exploration.

Ambo Gnemer will carry out its exploration on 21,000 hectares of land outside of Ambo in Oromia Regional State according to Nigussie Gedefa, Marketing and Project Office Coordinator.

The company has high hopes for the gold exploration site as local miners are actively producing precious minerals in the area where Ambo Gnemer expects to be producing gold said Nigussie.

Ethiopia's Seka Agro Processing PLC. is planning to establish a juice processing plant in Bench Maji Zone, Southern Regional State of Ethiopia, Fortune reported.

The plant will be constructed on a four hectare plot, located 2km away from the company’s mango farm. Seka has already ordered processing machinery from Germany and Italy.
