The telecom service license which was issued to the Safaricom-led consortium wins the Best Utilities Project category of the 2022 Partnership Awards which was held in the United Kingdom. 
The Awards took place on Thursday last week in London where the telecom service license was selected to be the winner among five finalists for its introduction of the private sector as part of telecoms liberalization project.
Ten local companies with a capital of over Birr 8.2 billion Birr have signed agreements with the Industrial Parks Development Corporation (IPDC) to operate in the industrial parks. The agreement aims to increase private sector engagement in IPDC and encourage local companies. Five of the ten companies will be engaged in manufacturing pharmaceuticals.
A new brand of bottled water, Tena Water, will join the Ethiopian market. Tena Water's plant encompasses three hectares of land, with the production unit sitting on over two thousand square meters. The project, which required an investment of 120 million birr, is owned by Bereket Bottled Drinking Water PLC.

The first phase of Tendaho Sugar Factory will start production in three weeks time, according to the Ethiopian Sugar Corporation.
