Ethiopia: Ten Local Companies to Enter Industrial Parks

Ten local companies with a capital of over Birr 8.2 billion Birr have signed agreements with the Industrial Parks Development Corporation (IPDC) to operate in the industrial parks. The agreement aims to increase private sector engagement in IPDC and encourage local companies. Five of the ten companies will be engaged in manufacturing pharmaceuticals.

The CEO of IPDC, Aklilu Tadese, highlighted, during the signing ceremony of the agreements, that the Corporation was taking various measures to strengthen the manufacturing sector in the country. He also noted that the companies would create job opportunities for many citizens and help in the reduction of national foreign currency spending.
