The Ministry of Revenues and Birhan Ena Selam Printing Enterprise have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to introduce QR codes on tax receipts, marking a significant step toward improving tax collection efficiency and curbing the circulation of counterfeit receipts in Ethiopia.
The Industrial Parks Development Corporation (IPDC) announced a significant increase in investment in the country's industrial parks. Out of a total of 177 shades, 157 are now occupied by investors, leaving only 20 available for new investments.
Ethiopian Enterprise Development (EED) reported that it would facilitate the provision of operating loan and machine lease to manufacturing enterprises in the current fiscal year by strengthening engagements with regional bureaus and financial institutions.
Accordingly, it revealed that operating loans totaling ETB 1.66 billion would be distributed to 1,591 manufacturing enterprises through banks and microfinance institutions. EED also stated that production equipment worth ETB 1.6 billion would be provided to 1,430 enterprises.
Ethiopian Railways Corporation (ERC) disclosed around 30 passenger locomotives have arrived at Endobi Station, which is along the Ethio-Djibouti railway line. The locomotives are said to have the capacity to travel up to 120 kilometers per hour and carry from 113 – 168 passengers at a time.
Federal Office of Road Fund (ORF) has maintained 133, 000 kilometers of road with 6.4 billion Birr in GTP I, Walta Information Center (WIC) reported.
