Ethiopian Announced Acquisition of 49 % Share of Malawian Air

Ethiopian Airlines, one of the leading African airline announced that it has become strategic partner of the new Malawian Air with acquisition of 49 per cent equity shareholding. The remaining 51% of the shares is held by the Malawian Government and Malawian private investors.

The shareholder agreement for Malawi Airlines was signed between Dr. Cornelius Mwalwanda, Deputy Minister of Finance of the Government of the Republic of Malawi and Tewolde Gebremariam, Chief Executive Officer of Ethiopian Airline in Lilongwe on Thursday, 11 July 2013. Add a comment Add a comment

Speakers of the Ethiopian and South Korean Parliaments expressed their commitment to further strengthen investment cooperation between the two countries.

During talks with with Korean Republic Parliament delegation headed by  Speaker Kang Lee yesterday, House of Peoples Representatives Speaker Abadulla Gemeda said tthat at Ethiopia will create favorable conditions for Korean investors interested to invest here.

Ethiopia's Shipping Enterprise Slashed Freight Rates

The state owned Ethiopian Shipping and Logistics Service Enterprise (ESLSE) has announced new marine freight-rate, effective July 1, 2013.

The new rate adjustment includes a 6 per cent discount on 20 feet containers and an 8 per cent decrease on 40 feet containers.

Bombardier Aerospace has named Ethiopian Airlines as an Authorized Service Facility (ASF) for commercial aircraft.
