Sidel Wins Another Turnkey Bottling Line in Ethiopia with Pepsi Bottler Moha

sidelSidel, the international supplier of liquid packaging solutions to the drinks industry, has won another contract with Moha Soft Drinks industry S.C., operating in the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia. The turnkey project involves installing the entire production line for Moha’s new Greenfield site in one of Ethiopia's principal economic and educational centres in the north of the country.

The plant at Mekele, the capital city of the Regional Government of Tigraye, is continuing the success achieved by Moha at its other plants. The new plant, sited around 780 kilometres north of the capital Addis Ababa, is where the Pepsi bottler aims to meet the rising demand with the new Sidel line for carbonated soft drinks (CSD) and water. Previously, supply to the region had necessitated the trucking of products from Addis Ababa. The new line will be mostly producing carbonated soft drinks at a rate of 36,000 returnable glass bottles (RGB) per hour.

Ethiopia: MetEC Planning to Sell Ships Aquired from ESLSE

metecEthiopia's Metal and Engineering Corporation (MetEC) is planning to sell the two vessels, ‘Abay Wonz’ and ‘Abyot’, it acquired last year from the Ethiopian Shipping and Logistics Service Enterprise (ESLSE).

Initially, MetEC planned to use the ships to transport its own cargo before using them as scrap metal, however, the corporation changed its plans after experts confirmed that the vessels are still operable, Brigadier General Kinfe Dagnew, Director General of MetEC, told Capital.

The Ministry awarded the project for the development of 88 e-service portals to Africom in May 2013 for 1.95 million Ethiopian birr.

Ethiopian AirlinesEthiopian Airlines, the fastest growing airline in Africa, is pleased to announce the start of four weekly services to Niamey, the Republic of Niger, as of 20 November 2013. These new flights will operate with Ethiopian’s Boeing 757-200 aircraft with 16 seats in Ethiopian’s Cloud Nine business class and 151 seats in economy class.

This new routing further solidifies Ethiopian's presence in Africa. Niger becomes the 47th Ethiopian destination in Africa. With its partner ASKY in West Africa, Ethiopian has service to 34 countries in Africa. No airline connects Africa to the world, as does Ethiopian.
