The Ministry of Urban Development and Housing (MoUDH) revealed its plan to build a total of 2.4 million houses at a national level in the second Growth and Transformation Plan (GTP-II) period yesterday at a three-day national conference, Fana Broadcasting Corporate reported.

According to CEO of Ethiopian Airlines, Mr. Tewolde Gebremariam, Ethiopian Airlines is preparing to launch private jet services for passengers traveling between Addis Ababa and other African cities, the Daily Monitor reported.The Scheduled operator, which is part of the Star Alliance, is presently working on feasibility study for a new division called ET Executive. The Airlines has still not described which aircraft types it would use for the flights. The CEO further stated that jets seating between 10 and 20 passengers are expected.

Construction of a new refined petroleum pipeline, known as Horn of Africa Pipeline (HOAP), stretching over 550- Kilometers between Ethiopia and Djibouti will commence in June. The agreement for the construction of the pipeline was signed last year, The Daily Monitor reported.

The US –Icelandic Reykjavik Geothermal Ltd, the other energy company, entered an agreement with the government to develop 1000 MW of electric power from geothermal resource in the southern parts of Ethiopia at a cost of USD 4 billion.
