Ethiopian Airlines to Begin Private Jet Services

logo-miniAccording to CEO of Ethiopian Airlines, Mr. Tewolde Gebremariam, Ethiopian Airlines is preparing to launch private jet services for passengers traveling between Addis Ababa and other African cities, the Daily Monitor reported.The Scheduled operator, which is part of the Star Alliance, is presently working on feasibility study for a new division called ET Executive. The Airlines has still not described which aircraft types it would use for the flights. The CEO further stated that jets seating between 10 and 20 passengers are expected.

Mr. Tewolde added that the airline had still not decided the terms and conditions under which the flights would be offered and whether the flights would be operating on a scheduled or ad hoc charter basis. He further asserted that they hoped to finalize the business plan within a short time.

Ethiopian Airlines presently has a fleet of 76 aircraft, most of them being Boeings. It has 42 more aircraft on order, among them 14 Airbus A350-900’s.
