Tender floated for Hawassa Industrial Park factory shed failed to attract any offer after only 9 companies bought the bid documents. Following this, Ethiopian Industrial Parks Development Corporation (IPDC) announced it would float the tender again which in the first place was only for local investors.

Stella Trade and Industry PLC is granted large-scale gold mining license to mine in Gambella State, Ethiopia. This makes Stella the first company to extract gold in Gambella.

According to Ethiopia Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (EEITI) publication, currently there are more than 80 companies exploring for gold in Ethiopia. Nonetheless, it is only 4 companies that have been granted extraction license.

Amhara State of Ethiopia targets to harvest more than 2 million quintals of crop during the belg season. The announcement was made by the State’s Agriculture Bureau.

The trade exhibition, which more than 100 Omani companies are taking part in, will stay open until March 14, 2016.

The under construction Hawassa Internation Airport, located at the capital of Southern Nations Nationalities and Peoples State, is announced to start operation soon.
