A new electric cable manufacturing factory is set to be built in Gondar city. The factory, which will be constructed by Jantekel Warka Trade Co., S.C., will cost Birr 300 million.

Shalom Health Care, a private limited company, broke ground on a USD 250 million medical equipment manufacturing plant in Hawassa, Ethiopia, last week. The plant, which is expected to be completed in two years, will create 5,000 jobs and help to alleviate the country's reliance on imported medical equipment.

The Ethiopian Shipping and Logistics Services Enterprise (ESLSE) announced that it would start construction of dry port terminals in Hawassa and Jimma within the next few months. Expansion works are also underway on 8 existing dry ports to facilitate logistics and meet the demands of customers.
