Hibret Bank signed a partnership agreement with Safaricom M-PESA to collaborate on various initiatives that will enhance the provision of digital financial solutions in Ethiopia. As part of an initial step for the agreed upon broad project, Hibret Bank is appointed as a Super-Agent to synergize the Cash-in and Cash-out process of the numerous agents registered under Safaricom M-PESA.

The zone initially planned to register investments totaling Birr 25 billion, but it ended up receiving investment registrations amounting to over Birr 42 billion. This is a 72% increase over the original target.

The Ministry of Mines has announced that the earnings from exported minerals totaled USD 226.8 million in the 2022/23 fiscal year. The Ministry also reviewed its performance during the year, highlighting that a total of Birr 896.8 million was granted to both domestic and foreign developers engaged in mineral exploration, production, and processing.

More than 900,000 international tourists visited Ethiopia in the last fiscal year, generating USD 2 billion in revenue for the tourism sector.
