The 20th African Fine Coffees Conference and Exhibition, along with the inaugural African Coffee Week, will be hosted by Ethiopia in Addis Ababa from February 5th to 9th, 2024. This significant event is jointly organized by three prominent African organizations: the African Fine Coffee Association (AFCA), the Inter African Coffee Organization (IACO), and the Ethiopian Coffee and Tea Authority.
Ethiopia, renowned as one of Africa's leading specialty coffee nations, will host this event for the fourth time, under the theme of "Specialty Coffee at Origin." Bringing together approximately 2,000 regional and international coffee professionals, including roasters, traders, producers, buyers, and experts, the conference serves as a valuable platform for the African coffee sector to engage in important discussions. Participants will delve into various topics such as policies, sustainability, access to finance, coffee competitions, and other relevant initiatives.
Established in July 2000, the African Fine Coffees Association (AFCA) is a non-profit, non-political, and member-driven regional association that represents the coffee industries of 11 member countries. Its diverse membership includes stakeholders from both the private and public sectors, such as producers, exporters, importers, roasters, policy makers, transporters, and trade representatives.
