The next "India-Africa ICT Expo" set to take place in Addis Abeba, Ethiopia on August 9–10, 2023, was discussed during a meeting between the Director General of Telecom Equipment and Services Export Promotion Council (TEPC) and the Ethiopian Ambassador to India, Demeke Atnafu.
The expo, which aims to create relationships between Ethiopia and India in these sectors, will feature participation from more than 40 Indian ICT and telecom businesses.
Ethiopia is interested in exchanging knowledge through investment with India, which has competence in developing telecommunications and IT infrastructure, including fiber and wireless networks, broadband connectivity solutions, and ICT software and applications. According to Ambassador Demeke, since 2018, Ethiopia has taken measures to liberalize and privatize the telecom industry, and the sector's liberalization has created considerable potential for forward-thinking businesses.
