GCG submitted a request for land for the project two years ago one of five proposals from domestic and international investors according to the city administration.

It is expected that the hotel will require an investment in the billions with 2.4 billion birr projected two years ago.

It is to be remembered that CGC had originally requested 50,000 m2 in the area between Meskel Square and Bole but the location was subsequently changed to the Urael area. The company will have to wait until people living on the land are relocated it was said.
