The Ethiopian Commodity Exchange (ECX) has announced its plans to introduce an online trading software program during the current fiscal year.
This program, being developed by the Artificial Intelligence Institute in collaboration with the Ministry of Trade and Regional Integration, will enable traders to conduct transactions from any location. Traders will have the convenience of entering their trading orders and accessing market information without having to visit ECX’s office.
The primary objective of this application is to modernize and enhance the efficiency of the trading system. By providing traders with a platform to enter orders, check market data such as prices and trading volumes, track order status, and communicate with other traders and market participants, ECX aims to foster a more transparent and competitive market for agricultural products.
ECX signed an agreement with Ethiopian Artificial Intelligence Institute last month to launch an online trading system which would allow services that were available at the headquarters of the institution to be provided remotely.
