Ethiopian Airlines, the fastest growing and most profitable airline in Africa, is pleased to announce that its Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Tewolde Gebremariam, has won the 2013 Planet Africa Professional Excellence Award on 2 November 2013 during a ceremony held at the International Centre in Toronto, Canada.

The award event of 2013 was held under theme “Celebrating the Dream”, in commemoration of the 50th anniversary of the "I have a Dream speech" of the renowned American civil rights leader, Dr. Martin Luther King. His daughter, Dr. Bernice King, delivered a keynote speech and received the Legend Award in recognition of his legacy.

Ethiopia's economy is projected to grow 7.5 percent, the International Monetary Fund (IMF) said yesterday at a press briefing on Regional Economic Outlook of sub-Saharan Africa 2013 and macroeconomic developments and policies in Ethiopia.

IMF Resident Representative Jan Mikkelsen said that in recent years, economic growth in Ethiopia has been robust.

The International Telecommunication Union (ITU) launched its "Measuring the Information Society 2013 Report" in Ethiopia yesterday, November 6, 2013.

International Telecommunication Union Regional Office Director Andrew Rugege said, the report provides tangible information and features of the ICT development at international level. It measures the trend of ICT through applying indicators agreed among the member countries.

Ethiopian Pulses, Oil seeds and Spices Processors, Exporters Association announced, the 3rd international conference on pulses, oil seeds and spices will be held on November 13, 2013.

The event which is expected to be attended by over 100 international companies is jointly organized by the association and the Ministry of Trade.
