The House of Peoples’ Representatives has ratified Proclamation No. 1379/2017, approving the country’s accession to the African Finance Corporation (AFC).
As a pan-African multilateral development finance institution, the AFC is designed to tackle Africa’s infrastructure deficits and create enabling environments for economic growth.
By joining the AFC, Ethiopia expects to benefit from project development support, financial advisory services, and direct investment in sectors including infrastructure, natural resources, and industry.
Founded by African sovereign states, the AFC engages across the entire project cycle, from concept to financial close. In addition to providing capital, the institution also delivers project management expertise.
