
The Ministry of Labour and Skills penned an agreement with Orient International Holdings, a Chinese company, to provide training to Ethiopian professionals who are in the textile industry and prepare them for the international market.
Teshale Berecha (PhD), State Minister of Labour and Skills, stated during the siginig ceremony of the agreement that the Government of Ethiopia would work together with the Government of China to help the Ethiopian textile sector grow. According to Dr. Teshale, the collaboration with Orient International will also boost the role of the textile sector in skill development and knowledge transfer.
Based on the agreement, Orient International will provide skills development trainings both in Ethiopia and abroad. It will send 100 Ethiopians to China for trainings in the textile sector. It is expected that the company will establish a training center in Ethiopia in the future.
