Investors totaling 3,600 with a total capital of Birr 186.4 billion were licensed during the last 10 months of the current fiscal year by Oromia Regional State. The investment projects are expected to create job opportunities for 679,700 people.

According to Ahmed Idris, Head of the Regional State’s Investment and Industry Bureau, the investors would engage in manufacturing, agro industry, agriculture and service provision. Among the licensed investors, 18 are foreigners.

The investors will commence their projects within 4 months from the date of receiving title deeds for investment land. Oromia has made 30,700 hectares of land ready for various investment projects.
