Ethiopia: Investment Forum Organized by Land Bank and Development Corporation to Launch on January 26

An investment forum called Invest Origins which is organized by Land Bank and Development Corporation (LBDC) will be held in Addis Ababa between January 26 and 27 at the Ethiopian Science Museum. The forum is aimed at attracting investors to invest in the country in areas of housing, health, education, hospitality, and ICT.

The Corporation collaborated with various ministerial institutions including the Ministry of Health, Ethiopian Airlines, OVID Group, Salvatore, Gift Real Estate, and local consulting firms to organize the investment forum. According to Lensa Mekonnen, CEO of LBDC, the forum will foster innovation and the Ethiopian investment landscape. The CEO also stated that Invest Origins was a forum where the country could forge lasting business alliances.

It is estimated that the investment forum will secure investments worth USD 2 billion given the various investment opportunities Ethiopia is offering. International partners and investors from Dubai, Bahrain, Tunisia, Sudan, and Kenya are already in Ethiopia to participate in the forum.

The Corporation plans to reach an agreement with three companies at the Invest Origins forum. The international forum will have 700 participants where 200 are expected to attend in person while 500 participants will participate online. LBDC has already allocated 2,000 hectares of land in Addis Ababa for investors who will engage in health, hospitality, education, and ICT investment sectors.
