Ethiopia: Vehicles Transported by Ethio-Djibouti Railway Arrive at Addis Ababa

Ethio-Djibouti RailwayEthio-Djibouti Standard Gauge Railway Share Company transported vehicles for the first time. The shipment of 25 vehicles arrived today in Addis Ababa. The company announced that it had a capacity of transporting 240 vehicles with a single trip.

It was reported that the transport services of the railway were preferable in terms of speed, price, and automobile safety. Transporting vehicles from the port of Djibouti using trucks takes days.

The railway company was established in 2017 with an initial capital of USD 500 million based on the bilateral investment agreement between Ethiopia and Djibouti which was signed in December 2016.
