Ethiopia’s bonds are the best-performing sovereign debt in emerging markets this year, atop 80 developing nations, Bloomberg reported, following a drastic improvement in the security situation in the country. The bonds have rebounded to six cents on the dollar since January 26.
Following the improvement, the returns on Ethiopia's bonds has surged to 13 percent, the best performance out of 80 developing nations Bloomberg said it has tracked.
Last year, Ethiopia's bonds had seen the worst, with the securities lost 28 percent, the worst performance after El Salvador.
