Ethiopia Commodity Exchange (ECX) announced that it has traded 48 thousand metric tons of soy bean in a year, worth 1.2 billion birr.
ECX related that the trading was made possible via the special trading window that allowed trading of processed agricultural produce. The trading window enables vegetable oil manufacturers to electronically purchase agricultural produce that has been laboratorically tested and approved for quality directly.
This trading mechanism is instrumental in facilitating the whole trading process, as well as letting vegetalbe oil producers to purchase input their require for their annual production beforehand, it has been learned.
