Sheger Bread Factory, Addis Ababa's paramount bread factory with a capacity of producing 1.5 million loaves of bread per day, or 80,000 loaves per hour, has started functioning at its full capacity today.
The announcement was made after Adanech Abiebie, Deputy Mayor of Addis Ababa, visited the factory this morning.
Mrs. Adanech said the Addis Ababa city administration will supply 100,000 quintals of wheat monthly.
Inaugurated in June last year, Sheger Bread Factory has been built at a cost of 900 million birr to quench the growing bread demand of Addis Ababa.
