Office Chérifien des Phosphates (OCP) Group announced it intends to build a fertilizer plant in Ethiopia. The announcement was made when the company’s Chairman and CEO, Dr. Mostafa Terrab, met and held talks with Hailemariam Dessalegn, Prime Minister of Ethiopia.
The Premier and Mostafa mainly discussed, in addition to building fertilizer plant, supplying fertilizer to the Ethiopian market with a reasonable price. They have also discussed about ways to build agro-processing factory in Ethiopia which will export processed agricultural products.
The CEO, when commenting on the discussion, said Ethiopia and Morocco are endowed with a vast resource of phosphate, nitrogen and potash which needs a combined effort to put into proper use.
According to Ethiopian News Agency (ENA), the fertilizers OCP supplies will be compatible with Ethiopian soil.
