The 2015 (Africa) China Commodities, Technology and Service Expo kicked off on Thursday, November 12, 2015, in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
Han Shengjian, Deputy Director of China’s Foreign Trade Development Bureau, said over 150 companies and manufacturers from 12 provinces in China are participating at the Expo, being held at the Millennium Hall.
Goods and services displayed at the Expo include machineries, electrical energy products, automobiles and spare parts, hardware and construction materials, agricultural wares, other electronics products and also consumer goods.
Yayehyirad Abate, Deputy Secretary General of Addis Ababa Chamber of Commerce and Sectoral Association (ACCSA), said the Expo will be a platform for Ethiopian and Chinese companies to sign business and joint venture deals.
Among the giant Chinese companies that participate at the Expo are, Weichai Power, Shanghai Iveco, Lifan Motors, Chongqing Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation Group.
The three-day Expo is organized by the Chinese Ministry of Commerce. The Expo is designed as a follow up action to the China-Africa Cooperation Forum and establish China –Africa Cooperation platform.
