The second route of the Addis Ababa light rail system stretching from Hayat Square-Megenagna-Torhailoch has started giving service today, Fana Broadcasting Corporate reported.
Dereje Tefera, Communication Affairs Head of the Ethiopian Railways Corporation told journalists the route will give service for 16 hours a day.
The tariff for 4km distance is two Birr and four Birr for 8.8km distance. The full journey costs 6 Birr.
He said based on the number of travelers, up to 21 trams will be allocated for the route.
The Addis Ababa light rail transit has a total of 32km length, 32 stations and 22 elevators.
