Somali Regional State of Ethiopia is to host the celebration of this year’s World Tourism Day at a national level on September 28, 2015, according to Ministry of Culture and Tourism.

The day will be observed for the 28th times in Ethiopia and 36th times globally under the theme “One Billion Tourists, One Billion Opportunities.”

Gezahegn Abate, Public and International Relations Director at the Ministry, said the celebration will regard the development, protection, and promotion of cultural, historical and natural tourist destinations.

There will be symposiums and cultural beauty contests at the celebration, Gezahagn added.
